INSTRUCTIONS
12 Hour fasting/GTT Testing
- EAT last meal/snack 12hrs prior to blood draw ie,
- If appointment is at 8am, EAT a meal/snack between 7:45-8:00pm the night before
- Then nothing but plenty of WATER after that
- You may drink pure water only
- All medications and vitamins should be taken AFTER your blood tests
- DO NOT FAST LONGER THAN 12HRS
24hr Urine Collection
- Collect container at Lab
- Do not change your normal fluid intake unless your doctors says otherwise
- Empty bladder when you get up in the morning and record time and date and discard this urine
- Collect all subsequent urine during the next 24hrs and keep refrigerated
- Do final collection the next morning around the same time as the previous morning and record time and date
- RETURN TO LAB AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
PAYMENT & BILLING
Once you are insured, all bills will be sent to the Insurer.
If you are not insured or rejected by the Insurance Company for any reason, payments may be made at Medilab with cash, cheque or Bank Card.
